Basketball Recap: Commerce Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Commerce had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Wilson on Thursday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 36-16 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Commerce found their leader in sophomore Ja'Naya Anderson, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Kelis Walker was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six boards and three steals.

The victory was the third in a row for Commerce, bringing their record up to 9-2. As for Wilson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Commerce and Wilson will both be playing Community the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Braves at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 12:45 p.m.
