Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Colleton County

Colleton County had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They never let the Bluffton Bobcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lanasia Sanders was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Timiyah Believe H, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Bre Gerard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Colleton County pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Bluffton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Colleton County is set to face off against their familiar foe Hilton Head Island at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bluffton will square off against rival Bishop England at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
