Basketball Recap: Clinton Christian Academy's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Heartland wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Clinton Christian Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Raymond Hood. The Clinton Christian Academy Patriots greeted the New Year with with a 57-42 victory over the Heartland Mustangs thanks in part to Hood, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 12 games he's played dating back to last season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Colten Manning, who posted six points. What's more, he also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024.

Heartland's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Stone, who put up 18 points and six rebounds. That was a full 42.9% of Heartland's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Zach Stone, who earned 14 points and three blocks.

The win made it two in a row for Clinton Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 8-3. As for Heartland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bethel Academy the next time they take the court. Clinton Christian Academy will host Bethel Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while Heartland will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
