Basketball Recap: Joeraan Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Faith Christian over Kearny Christian Academy

Faith Christian lost against Kearny Christian Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Faith Christian fell 56-49 to Kearny Christian Academy.

Faith Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Joeraan Williams, who posted 19 points. Williams' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tiago Morera-Cuadro was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Kearny Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leo Kargbo led the charge by posting 21 points and four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Kargbo has scored at least a third of Kearny Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was David Manzo, who put up 13 points along with five boards and four steals.

Faith Christian dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Kearny Christian Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Christian will face off against Abundant Life Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Abundant Life Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Faith Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kearny Christian Academy, they will take on Veritas Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Kearny Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season.
