Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Davis Academy Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Calhoun Academy last Wednesday, Jefferson Davis Academy came back down to earth. The Raiders lost 3-0 to the Wardlaw Academy Patriots on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in August.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was RYNN FICKLING, who had six digs, five kills, and two aces. FICKLING is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season. ABBY DEERING was another key player, getting four digs and one block.

Jefferson Davis Academy's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Wardlaw Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Jefferson Davis Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Colleton Prep Academy on the 3rd. As for Wardlaw Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Cambridge Academy on the 4th.
