Otis came out on top against Wiley on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 15-run second inning. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-1 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Austin Hornung made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Mitchell Stivers was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tayte Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI.

Otis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wiley only posted a batting average of .111.

The victory (which was Otis' third in a row) raised their record to 13-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Wiley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12-1 record this season.

Otis will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Simla at 4:30 p.m. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cubs have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Wiley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-1 victory against Manzanola on the 18th.
