Pellston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Mackinaw City Comets, falling 14-5. On the bright side, the five- run effort marked the Hornets' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Donovan ORourke and Issac Groff stepped up to the plate in a big way. ORourke went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run, while Groff went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That run marked the first that Groff has scored this season.

Pellston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Mackinaw City, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home.
