The Shawnee Renegades will head out on the road to take on the Absegami Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shawnee will be strutting in after a win while Absegami will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, Shawnee didn't have too much trouble with Seneca at home as they won 47-28. Given Shawnee's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Seneca is ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Absegami ended up a good deal behind Mainland Regional on Friday and lost 66-52.
Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Absegami, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
Shawnee took their win against Absegami in their previous matchup back in March of 2015 by a conclusive 57-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shawnee since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
