The Orlando Christian Prep Warriors won against the Northside Christian Mustangs two weeks ago with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Orlando Christian Prep took down Northside Christian 35-16. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Orlando Christian Prep also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Orlando Christian Prep can attribute much of their success to Akeevin Anderson, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.
Gavin Richardson and Blake Van wormer certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Richardson picked up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Van wormer threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt. Richardson was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 62 yards.
Orlando Christian Prep's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Northside Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Orlando Christian Prep and Providence School will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. Northside Christian will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Carrollwood Day at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Carrollwood Day will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
