After flying high against the Somerset Tech Jaguars on Friday, the Highland Park Owls came back down to earth. Highland Park fell 64-53 to Metuchen on Saturday. Highland Park has not had much luck with Metuchen recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Ben Santus was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Hayes-durina, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Highland Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Metuchen, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland Park will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Manville at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Metuchen, they will head out on the road to face off against Spotswood at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
