Make it four blowout wins for the Notre Dame Titans this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Green 51-16 at home. Given Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Green is ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Notre Dame had a senior duo take command as Katie Strickland dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds and Gracie Ashley scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Strickland has scored at least a third of Notre Dame's points. Annabelle Ball was another key contributor, scoring three points along with four steals.
Notre Dame's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Green, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will take on Ironton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ironton is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Green, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hannan at 6:30 p.m. Hannan is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
