Ligonier Valley is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Mt. Pleasant is on a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Rams will host the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Ligonier Valley knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Mt. Pleasant likes a good challenge.
If Ligonier Valley beats Mt. Pleasant with ten runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Rams' pitcher stepped up to hand East Allegheny a 10-0 shutout on Thursday.
Duncan Foust was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ligonier Valley is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. Foust was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
