The Parlier Panthers fell victim to the Minarets Mustangs''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 35-0 loss at the hands of the Mustangs. Parlier's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.
Minarets' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Torin Wolf led the charge by throwing for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Joey Lamadrid was in the mix too, providing Minarets with two touchdowns.
Minarets' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Matthew Carlton and his two sacks.
Parlier's defeat was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.0 points per game. As for Minarets, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Parlier will look to defend their home field on Friday against Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. As for Minarets, they will head out on the road to face off against Yosemite at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
