Cochranton's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Rocky Grove 10-0. Considering the Cardinals have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jaidin Frayer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Claudia Lippert, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2025. Karmyn Reese was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Cochranton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cambridge Springs waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Panthers. Give the Devils' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Cochranton's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Cambridge Springs, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Cochranton came out on top in a nail-biter against Cambridge Springs when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 4-2. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
