The Park Rapids Panthers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 64-57 victory over Pillager. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Park Rapids got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Morris out in front who scored 28 points. Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Noah Larson, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Park Rapids' win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Pillager, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Park Rapids will be home for the holidays to greet Pine River-Backus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pillager will be home for the holidays to greet Staples-Motley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Staples-Motley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
