The Northside Christian Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Hickory Grove Christian Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Northside Christian Academy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hickory Grove Christian in North Carolina (Northside Christian Academy is ranked 84th, while Hickory Grove Christian is ranked 327th).
Last Tuesday, Northside Christian Academy came up short against Concord Academy and fell 44-37.
Northside Christian Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from JaKaila Gaskin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Amani Womack was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Hickory Grove Christian's game on Tuesday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Westminster Catawba Christian by a score of 49-46. Hickory Grove Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Lauren Feaster, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracey Libby, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Northside Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Northside Christian Academy against Hickory Grove Christian when the teams last played on Thursday as the squad secured a 70-12 win. With Northside Christian Academy ahead 47-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
