On Thursday, Angleton was the victim of a rough 72-50 loss at the hands of Cypress Springs. While losing is never fun, Angleton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 679th, while Cypress Springs is ranked 73rd).
Angleton's loss came despite strong showings from Noah Rossow and Braydon Campbell. Rossow scored 12 points along with three steals, while Campbell scored 16 points. Rossow continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Langston Myrick, who scored four points along with five rebounds and four steals.
It was another big night for Stoney Hadnot, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals for Cypress Springs. Hadnot set a new season high mark in blocks with three. Landon Veal was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Angleton and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Cypress Springs, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Angleton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Westbury Christian at 10:30 a.m. on December 1st. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jason Scott and Campbell. As for Cypress Springs, they will take on West Brook at 6:25 p.m. on Thursday. West Brook is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
