The Payson Lions had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past Mountain View with points to spare, taking the game 35-17. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Payson also won the last time the pair played back in September.
Payson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Swasey out in front who picked up 142 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Trevyn Wall was another key contributor, throwing for 255 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Payson now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Mountain View, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Payson will square off against Provo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Provo is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
