The Fillmore Central Panthers lost against the St. Cecilia Bluehawks back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Fillmore Central was beaten by St. Cecilia 54-14. Fillmore Central has struggled against St. Cecilia recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
St. Cecilia got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryann Sabatka out in front who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Sabatka scored 15 or more points. Tatum Krikac was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine steals.
Fillmore Central bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for St. Cecilia, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Fillmore Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central City on January 4, 2024. St. Cecilia and York will round out the year against one another at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th at. Hopefully York focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
