The Glades Day Gators and the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Glades Day came into Friday's contest having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 30-25 W over Sheridan Hills Christian on Friday. The win was just what Glades Day needed coming off of a 79-13 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Grandview Prep 57-35. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Trinity Christian Academy considering their 23-point performance the match before.
Trinity Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Elsheema Saintyl, who scored 22 points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Saintyl scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Garcon, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Glades Day's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-8. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-13.
Everything came up roses for Glades Day against the Warriors in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 62-26 win. Does Glades Day have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
