The Tri-West Hendricks Bruins entered their tilt with the Crawfordsville Athenians with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Tri-West Hendricks put the hurt on Crawfordsville with a sharp 59-39 victory on Friday. Given Tri-West Hendricks' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Crawfordsville is ranked 305th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Drew Miller, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Wes Ward was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Several Athenians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan McLemore, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals. McLemore has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Saidan, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Tri-West Hendricks is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. As for Crawfordsville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-West Hendricks' homestand continues as they prepare to take on North Montgomery at 7:30 p.m. on February 16th. Crawfordsville will take on Danville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Crawfordsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
