The Clear Creek Golddiggers struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes had 20 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Clear Creek was outmatched by Bishop Machebeuf at home and fell 84-45. Clear Creek lost against Bishop Machebeuf in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 74-53 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Clear Creek lost, one person who can't be blamed is Collin Hendrickson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Hendrickson set a new season high mark in steals with three. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler O'Brien, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Bishop Machebeuf was led to victory by Jack Menke and Miles Edgar-Parchman. Menke scored 23 points along with three steals, while Edgar-Parchman dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Edgar-Parchman's fourth in a row with at least ten points. John Menke was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Clear Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Bishop Machebeuf, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Clear Creek will head out on the road to face off against Denver Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Denver Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 back in December of 2023. As for Bishop Machebeuf, they will be playing at home against Dawson School at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
