The Cardinal O'Hara Hawks fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Lancaster Legends on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Legends 70-66. While losing is never fun, Cardinal O'Hara can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Lancaster is ranked tenth).
Despite the loss, Cardinal O'Hara still got an impressive performance from Kels Ivey, who scored 32 points along with six rebounds. The game was Ivey's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cannon Dotson, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Cardinal O'Hara struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cardinal O'Hara bumped their record down to 3-3 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lancaster, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Cardinal O'Hara will be home for the holidays to greet Orchard Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lancaster, they will head out on the road to face off against East Aurora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
