The Boulder City Eagles will square off against The Meadows School Mustangs at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Boulder City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over Virgin Valley. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Gavin Robinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off only two hits. Robinson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Wagstaff, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Boulder City's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 10-11 when he doesn't). Karter Law was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs.
Boulder City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .394 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, The Meadows School had just enough and edged out Pahrump Valley 4-3 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted against the Trojans since April 19, 2024.
The Meadows School also got a great performance from Keegan Sabelko as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Sabelko has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mox Hoy was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Boulder City's victory bumped their record up to 16-11. As for The Meadows School, their win bumped their record up to 15-12.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Boulder City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like The Meadows School struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
