Newark Charter School's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the First State Military Academy Bulldogs as Newark Charter School made off with an 11-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Patriots needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Sean Luxton was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Luxton was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other pitching news, Newark Charter School got a great performance from Tristan Tynan as he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

Back at the plate, Doron Griffin was a standout: he scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Patrick Chase was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.

Newark Charter School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First State Military Academy only posted a batting average of .120.

Newark Charter School now has a winning record of 2-1. As for First State Military Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Newark Charter School will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Caravel at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for First State Military Academy, they will face off against MOT Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
