Eastwood is 9-1 against Otsego since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Eastwood Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Otsego Knights at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eastwood has four straight victories, Otsego has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, Eastwood beat Fostoria 57-50.
Meanwhile, Otsego was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 44-43 to Rossford.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jocelyn Cornell, who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Lehr, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Otsego were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Eastwood's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Otsego, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Eastwood beat Otsego 35-25 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Eastwood repeat their success, or does Otsego have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
