The Fox Warriors will head out to challenge the Lindbergh Flyers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Fox and Mehlville had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Warriors lost 12-6 to the Panthers on Monday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lindbergh). Everything went their way against Northwest on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-8 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Flyers.
Austin Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Lindbergh: the team is 4-1-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 11-13-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, Jon Calcaterra and CJ Luczak did most of the damage at the plate: Calcaterra went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Luczak got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Luczak has posted since back in April. Jack Politte was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Lindbergh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Lindbergh now has a winning record of 15-14-2. As for Fox, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.
Fox might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Lindbergh when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
