Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lompoc

Lompoc owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They put the hurt on the Cabrillo Conquistadores with a sharp 9-0 win. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by nine runs or more this season.

Alex Brooks made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Brooks was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Rianna Stouppe was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Lola Soukup was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

The victory was the third in a row for Lompoc, bringing their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cabrillo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lompoc will take on Righetti at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lompoc 2.5, Righetti 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Cabrillo, they will face off against St. Joseph at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Cabrillo's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
