After a string of four wins, the Pensacola Christian Academy Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Jay, falling 69-26. Pensacola Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-12.
Pensacola Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Porter, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Porter has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Sellars, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Leading Jay to victory were Madalyn Grimes and Carleigh Baker. Grimes dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds, while Baker scored nine points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Grimes also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Darcy Locklin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Pensacola Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Jay, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
