The Arcadia Redskins will challenge the Lakota Raiders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Arcadia earned a 6-1 win over Pandora-Gilboa. The Redskins haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Nolan Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isaac Stoner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Blayne Colman also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lakota, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Danbury on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Raiders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jack Widman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lakota is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Widman was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Graham Harmon was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and one RBI. Grant Bomer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Lakota's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Arcadia, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Arcadia couldn't quite get it done against Lakota in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 as they fell 4-1. Will the Redskins have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
