Dooly County is 1-6 against Telfair County since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-19, which was the final score in Dooly County's tilt against Perry on Tuesday. Dooly County has not had much luck with Perry recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Bleckley County typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Telfair County proved too difficult a challenge. They snuck past the Royals with a 59-53 win. The win was just what Telfair County needed coming off of a 57-33 defeat in their prior contest.
Telfair County relied on the efforts of Passion Clay, who scored 23 points along with five steals, and Zah'Mya McDuffie, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals. McDuffie is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty'Teionna Jones, who scored two points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Dooly County dropped their record down to 1-18 with that defeat, which was their 23rd straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Telfair County, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Dooly County was dealt a bruising 76-9 defeat at the hands of Telfair County in their previous matchup back in January. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dooly County was down 38-9.
