Video: Billy Preston highlightsKansas signee and Oak Hill Academy teammates take on Chino Hills this weekend. It's not often that
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) is upstaged on its home floor.
Head coach Gary McKnight's Monarchs (24-1) – ranked No. 5 nationally by MaxPreps this week – have lost at home only once in the past 10 years.
But this weekend at Mater Dei's annual Nike Extravaganza, it's the guests garnering much of the attention. Three of the top five teams in the High School Top 25 will take the floor Saturday night in back-to-back-to-back games at the Meruelo Athletic Center.
And that doesn't include storied
Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), who will be out to end one of high school basketball's longest win streaks.
Read on for more on the Nike Extravaganza and a look at the weekend's biggest games nationally:

No. 24 Greensboro Day (N.C.) at Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, N.C.)7 p.m. (EST) FridayThe Piedmont Conference rivals met just 10 days ago with Greensboro Day taking a 51-46 win. Wesleyan Christian Academy will serve as host this time around and can earn a share of the conference lead with a win. There will be seven or eight future Division I players on the floor at all times in this one.
No. 22 Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati, Ohio) at La Salle (Cincinnati, Ohio)7:30 p.m. (EST) FridayAnother rematch, this time between Greater Catholic League South rivals in Cincinnati. Moeller beat La Salle 49-39 at home back on Jan. 13 and will put its perfect record up for grabs on the road this time around. Cornell signee
Riley Voss led the way for Moeller with 13 points in the first meeting. La Salle is 6-0 in the meantime and 16-2 overall.
No. 2 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) vs. Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas)5:45 p.m. (PST) Saturday @ Nike Extravaganza
This matchup tips off the heavyweight portion of the card Saturday night at the Nike Extravaganza. Sierra Canyon (21-1) looks to add to its resume, which already includes two wins over Nevada teams in
Centennial (Las Vegas) and
Findlay Prep (Henderson). The Gaels should come in with a chip on their shoulder after seeing
Clark (Las Vegas) end their 75-game home win streak against NIAA opponents on Tuesday.
No. 3 Chino Hills (Calif.) vs. * No. 5 Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.)8:45 p.m. (PST) Saturday @ Nike ExtravaganzaBarring a massive upset, Chino Hills (24-0) will take the floor Saturday night riding a 60-game win streak. The Huskies have improved as the season has gone along and added impact transfer
Ofure Ujadughele in early January. But this will be the biggest test to date for the defending section, state and national champions. Oak Hill Academy (26-3) has come up short in big games this season but could erase that stigma with a win. The Warriors will face
Foothills Christian (El Cajon, Calif.) on Friday night at the Extravaganza. Chino Hills and Oak Hill Academy last met at the 2015 Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions with the latter overcoming a 13-point deficit to win 86-77.
* No. 1 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) vs. No. 14 Patrick School (Elizabeth, N.J.)1:30 p.m. (EST) Sunday @ Tom Richel Memorial HoopfestSticking with the rematch theme, we last saw these two teams together in the third-place game at the City of Palms Classic in December. Star guard
Trevon Duval dominated that night, going for 23 points and five assists to help IMG overcome a big first-half deficit for the win. Expect the battle-tested Celtics to dig in and be tough to beat playing close to home.
