Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Wilmington). They secured  a  35-30 W over the Wakefield Memorial Warriors on Friday. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered  a  28-12  loss the last time these two teams met.
The  win made it two in a row for Wilmington and  bumps their season record up to 5-1. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 4-1 Stoneham (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65% over those games). As for Wakefield Memorial, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wilmington is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Melrose  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  points on average (the Wildcats 13.3, the Red Raiders 12.8) so any  points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Wakefield Memorial will  challenge  rival Stoneham  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday.
