The Dixon Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Richlands Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Dixon scored first but ultimately less than Croatan in their game on Friday. They took a 21-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. Despite 204 more yards than Croatan, Dixon couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Despite the loss, Dixon got a solid performance out of Jziah Hinton, who rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 70 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Hinton is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Brayden Anderson - Sidbury was another key contributor, gaining 100 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Richlands unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 33-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of White Oak.
Dixon now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Richlands, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Dixon has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 251.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Richlands struggles in that department as they've been averaging 171 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Dixon was dealt a bruising 49-0 loss at the hands of Richlands when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Dixon have more luck at home instead of on the road?
