The East Ascension Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Destrehan Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Ascension is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

East Ascension will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Riverside Academy on Monday. The Spartans came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 11-7. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Mya Lanoux, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Tullier, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Destrehan didn't have quite enough to beat Vandebilt Catholic on Thursday and fell 2-1. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Destrehan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jolie Lozano, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

East Ascension's victory bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Destrehan, their loss dropped their record down to 21-12.

Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. East Ascension has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Destrehan struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

East Ascension came up short against Destrehan when the teams last played back in February of 2021, falling 4-1. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
