A well-balanced attack led the Saginaw Rough Riders over the Northwest Texans in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Saginaw enjoyed a cozy 55-41 win over Northwest. Given Saginaw's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Northwest is ranked 652nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Saginaw's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julius Brundage led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Brundage has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Gastile, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Saginaw has been performing well recently as they've won 18 of their last 23 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season. As for Northwest, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 15 of their last 18 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-23 record this season.
Saginaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Aledo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Northwest: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Aledo has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
