The York Dukes lost against the Adams Central Patriots back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. York fell to Adams Central 53-47. While losing is never fun, York can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Adams Central is ranked 33rd).
Several Dukes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kiersten Portwine, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Chloe Koch, who scored 13 points.
