The Cedaredge Bruins''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Limon 42-7. While losing is never fun, Cedaredge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Limon is ranked 21st).
Limon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lohgan Bottjer led the charge by rushing for 94 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Lance Beedy also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Cedaredge's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.2 points per game. As for Limon, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Cedaredge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Limon will take on Banning Lewis Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Banning Lewis Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
