It was a good run, but the Brandon Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Petal. Brandon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Petal apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Brandon's loss came despite strong showings from Braylon Barnes and Elijah Morey. Barnes scored 27 points along with eight rebounds, while Morey dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Barnes continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyn Bailey, who scored seven points.
Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Petal, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Brandon will be playing at home against Pearl at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Pearl is ranked 31st, while Brandon is ranked 33rd). As for Petal, they will head out on the road to take on Northwest Rankin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
