Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Tescott Trojans walked away with it. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-19 victory over Peabody-Burns. The win was familiar territory for Tescott who now have four in a row.
Carter Peters had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 156 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 49 receiving yards. James Dickerman was another key contributor, rushing for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Tescott's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Chase and 0-8 Chetopa (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.5% over those games). As for Peabody-Burns, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Tescott will take on Waverly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waverly is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Peabody-Burns does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
