Green Lake/Princeton is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Fall River is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigersharks will welcome the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Green Lake/Princeton barely beat Montello the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigersharks blew past the Hilltoppers 13-2 on Thursday.
Kyle Bond made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Drake Westfield was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Grant Bartol was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Green Lake/Princeton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Fall River got the win against Cambria-Friesland on Thursday by a conclusive 10-4. The Pirates have beaten the Hilltoppers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hilltoppers has come to flipping the script.
Like Green Lake/Princeton, Fall River also got a great game from a two-way player: Connor Veith. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Veith was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ben Bolman was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Ethan Stai, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Green Lake/Princeton has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Fall River, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Green Lake/Princeton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. However, it's not like Fall River struggles in that department as they've averaged .477. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
