After flying high against Palmdale last Thursday, Quartz Hill came back down to earth. The Royals received a blow on Friday as they fell 34-20 to the Lancaster Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Royals of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Arthur Turner and Jacob Walker. Turner rushed for 258 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per carry while Walker rushed for 150 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Turner has posted since back in November of 2024.
Quartz Hill's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-4. As for Lancaster, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.
