The Standing Rock Warriors won against the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves on Saturday with 57 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Standing Rock took down Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 57-40. Winning may never get old, but Standing Rock sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Several Braves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tiana Johnson, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Elisha Mendoza was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Standing Rock pushed their record up to 5-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Standing Rock's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Grant County co-op [Carson/Elgin-New Leipzig/Mott-Regent] at 4:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Grant County co-op [Carson/Elgin-New Leipzig/Mott-Regent] presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Standing Rock in North Dakota (Grant County co-op [Carson/Elgin-New Leipzig/Mott-Regent] is ranked 29th, while Standing Rock is ranked 115th). As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they will be playing at home against Todd County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
