Luka Luburic looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Blake Ragsdale was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Noah Fitzgerald was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Lyons always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Proviso West only posted an OBP of .250.
Lyons' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Proviso West, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.
Proviso West's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lyons has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game.
