Sutter's Jared Miller rumbled for the longest rushing play in Butte View this season in his game against Las Plumas last week. Miller's team beat the Thunderbirds as he sprinted for 80 yards on the play and finished with 86 in all.
Orland moved up to 310 from 381 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of topping Wheatland 48-20.
The Pirates' dynamic duo of Jackson Hopking and Jordan Samson proved tough for Orland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hopking threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns and Samson had 114 yards receiving. Mike Woods helped Wheatland's passing attack out by catching one ball for 77 yards.
Chris Mayes was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 271 yards on 15 carries as Winters lost to Mike Mcdonald's team. Teammate Jacob Lowrie added to the ground attack by rushing for 121 yards.
Seth Millington made the biggest impact on defense this week as Neil Stinson's team lost to the Trojans. The 5-foot-11 senior recorded one fumble.
The Pirates' Hopking and Samson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Butte View in both passing and receiving yards. Hopking has thrown for 1288 yards this season, while Samson, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 29 catches for 698 yards. The Warriors' Mayes leads the league in rushing yards with 1228.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Orland takes on Winters. The Trojans are in second place, while Daniel Ward's team is in fourth place.
Sutter extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Las Plumas, 46-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for Ryan Reynolds' team.
