Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Loris). They blew past the Georgetown Bulldogs, posting  a  63-12 victory. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive  win against them.
 Zamire Gerald had another great game (as  he tends to do), throwing for 289 yards and four  touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 89 yards on only five carries. Those  289  passing yards gave  him a new career-high.  Roderick Purcha was  Gerald's top target, picking up 50 receiving yards and one  TD, while also rushing for 73 yards and a pair of  scores.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Loris was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 234  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Loris didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Khalil Sherman.
Loris' record is now 8-0. As for Georgetown,  they are  on  a  13-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Loris is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Marlboro County  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  points on average (the Lions 11.4, the Bulldogs 11.5) so any  points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Georgetown will  take on  rival Aynor  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday.
