Fitzgerald saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Bush, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Bush has become a key player for the Spartans: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-11 otherwise. Dexter Garda was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Warren Woods-Tower, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Hazel Park by a score of 7-2 on Monday.
Foley Kedzior was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arjay Zimmerman, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
Fitzgerald's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Warren Woods-Tower, their victory bumped their record up to 6-22.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fitzgerald has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Warren Woods-Tower struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fitzgerald might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Warren Woods-Tower when the teams last played back in April. Will the Spartans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
