Montverde Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Inspiration Academy, who was ranked 13th at the time (Montverde Academy was ranked second). The Eagles skirted past the Lions 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since March 18th.

At the plate, Luna Taboas and Addison Poe did most of the damage at the plate: Taboas scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Poe went 1-for-3 with one home run. Taboas has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times she's played.

They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since April 8, 2024.
Elizabeth Ozim was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4.
Montverde Academy's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Foundation Academy, they moved to 10-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Foundation Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Montverde Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Foundation Academy, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 strikeouts. Will Montverde Academy keep running through batters, or will the Lions buck the trend?
