The Ellet Orangement will head out on the road to square off against the Firestone Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ellet is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Ellet is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Wednesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Austintown-Fitch.

Logan Wilson put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. Ellet is 2-1 when Wilson allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-11 otherwise. Wilson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Austin Roach made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Evan Dowling also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Firestone suffered their biggest defeat since May 10, 2025 on Wednesday. They lost 10-3 to Beachwood.
Jason Chestnut was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Uzcategui, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Ellet's record is now 8-12. As for Firestone, their record now sits at 10-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ellet has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Firestone struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Ellet suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Firestone in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Can the Orangement avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
