Custer County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against Sidney/Fairview by a score of 11-8.
Samantha Brown made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off eight hits. Brown was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Jacie Chapweske was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Heidi Richard was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.
